Coordinate and support departmental food safety programs.
Major
responsibilities include: - Work
with Extension Faculty members in Food Science and other departments to develop
and present food safety information to food processors (ie., dairy, meat, poultry,
fruit and vegetable); food service (restaurant) and retail (grocery) operations;
and consumers.
- Develop
and organize food safety information, displays, print documents, and curricula
to county-based extension educators, including recertification programs for the
PA Food Employee Certification Act.
- Provide
assistance to Extension Faculty members in Food Science in the development, organization,
and site responsibilities for department-sponsored workshops or short courses.
- Work
with Extension Faculty members in Food Science to develop and evaluate the impact
of food safety programs, curricula, or materials used by extension educators and
report this information to clientele and local, state and federal agencies.
- Assist
with inclusion and maintenance of food safety related materials or training programs
