Provide administrative support to the Department's academic graduate programs.
Participate as a team member of the operations support group focusing on process
improvement to improve department administrative processes and to better support
the department's strategic initiatives.
Major
responsibilities include: -
Provide administrative support to the Department's Graduate Program Coordinator.
- Assist in graduate
recruitment and communication with students interested in applying to the program.
- Monitor
and maintain graduate application records and database in accordance with department
and university records retention procedures.
- Evaluate
credentials of applicants seeking admission to graduate degree program.
- Prepare
letters of admission and scholarship on behalf of the Department Head.
- Serve
as Department's liaison with college and university student support units, facilitate
communications to and from these units, and initiate key activities with these
units.
- Share
programmatic activities, requests and related deadlines with appropriate department
members.
- Facilitate
revisions to graduate program information and disseminate information and procedures
to faculty, staff, and students as well as to potential students and their parents.
- Provide support
to faculty, staff and students on graduate policies and procedures.
- Coordinate
faculty graduate committee appointments and verify graduate faculty status of
all committee members.
- Provide
support to the graduate program committee by scheduling meetings, contributing
to procedural discussions, and preparing meeting minutes.
- Maintain
and provide summary data and information relating to student programs for use
by the Department Head, the Graduate Program Committee, and others involved in
external program reviews and strategic planning.
- Process
graduate assistantship appointments.
- Provide
back-up support to the Budget Staff Assistant on an as-needed basis.
