Provide administrative support to the Department's academic undergraduate and
graduate programs.
Participate as a team member of the operations support group focusing on process
improvement to improve department administrative processes and to better support
the department's strategic initiatives.
Major
responsibilities include: - Provide
administrative support to the Department's Graduate and Undergraduate Program
Committees.
- Support
the responsibilities of the Department's Undergraduate and Graduate Coordinators.
- Share programmatic
activities, requests and related deadlines with appropriate Department members.
- Maintain student
records in accordance with department and university records retention procedures.
- Manage graduate
undergraduate program admissions processes to include processing of applications
and drafting admission and scholarship letters on behalf of the Department Head.
- Facilitate
processes relating to scholarship and other funding support to students.
- Coordinate
the scheduling of Food Science courses and facilitate SRTE and other course evaluations.
- Support the
department's recruitment initiative.
- Facilitate
revisions to program information and disseminate information and procedures to
faculty, staff, and students as well as to potential students and their parents.
Advise students and faculty on process and procedures.
- Serve
as Department's liaison with college and university student support units, facilitate
communications to and from these units, and initiate key activities with these
units.
- Maintain
and provide summary data and information relating to student programs for use
by the Department Head, the Graduate and Undergraduate Program Committees, and
others involved in external program reviews and strategic planning.
