

The
mission of the Family and Community Food Systems Outreach group
is to promote development of versatile, sustainable family and
community food systems which support positive interactions within
families of all types, among community members, and within the
surrounding food system, whether local or regional, that help
address the needs of limited-resource families. This development
will be supported by basic and applied research, as well as
exemplary, culturally sensitive outreach programs through EFNEP
and the Pennsylvania NEP. The group will communicate its findings
and its programs to students, Cooperative Extension and Outreach
staff, other faculty, members of the Pennsylvania food system,
and interested regional and national groups.
